Practice

Stephanie Lin is an award-winning designer and educator, and the founder of Present Forms. Her practice integrates artistic and architectural modes of thinking, ranging in scale from immersive environments to objects and furniture. Each project explores the use of ephemeral materialities to reveal embedded cultural narratives and hidden orders.

Recent notable work includes Taffy, one of three large-scale art installations constructed for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2025. In 2023 Lin was awarded the prestigious Civitella Ranieri Architecture Prize, though she was unable to attend the residency. Lin is also a member of Office III design collective, one of five finalists in the MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program in 2017. Office III completed the Governors Island Welcome Center in New York, NY that same year.

Lin’s work has been exhibited widely, including at The Museum of Modern Art (New York, NY), Storefront for Art and Architecture (New York, NY), The National Academy of Design (New York, NY), Luminaire Showroom (Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles), The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (New York, NY), A+D Architecture and Design Museum (Los Angeles, CA), cneai= (Paris, France), and several universities. Her practice and teaching have been featured in publications including Metropolis Magazine, Hospitality Design Magazine, Dezeen, The Architect’s Newspaper, ArchDaily, Cultured Magazine, Flaunt, and Domus.

Teaching

Since 2021, Stephanie Lin has served as the Dean of The School of Architecture (TSOA) founded by Frank Lloyd Wright and Olgivanna Lloyd Wright. In 2023 she was named the recipient of the AIA AZ Design Pedagogy Award for her teaching at TSOA. Lin has also taught design studios and seminars at The Cooper Union School of Architecture, UC Berkeley, Pratt Institute, and Columbia University GSAPP.
